6. Kill Bill: Volume 2

Serving as the sequel to Kill Bill: Volume 1, Volume 2 was released in 2004 just months after the original. The wonderful Uma Thurman reprises her role as the Bride, a former assassin who’s out for revenge. David Carradine, Daryl Hannah, and Michael Madsen also return as the story continues and we learn more about the Bride’s background.

Kill Bill: Volume 2, just like its predecessor, is known for its blend of genres, including martial arts action and homages to classic cinema. It includes so many memorable, action-packed moments, for instance the eye scene and the Bride’s confrontation with Bill.

I prefer the first Kill Bill to the second, but both are fantastic. The second movie puts a focus more on character development than action sequences, which is a nice way to balance out the overall story.

5. Kill Bill: Volume 1

The Kill Bill movies, like several titles on this list, have had a huge impact on pop culture. The original came out in 2003 and wowed audiences with its mix of martial arts action, Tarantino’s signature cinematography, and strong dialogue. It’s an absolute rollercoaster ride from start to finish that you simply can’t look away from — in the best way.

Uma Thurman stars as the Bride, with a supporting cast including Lucy Liu as O-Ren Ishii, Dave Carradine as Bill, Vivica A. Fox as Vernita Green, Daryl Hannah as Elle Driver, and Michael Madsen as Budd. I sound like a broken record because really, every Tarantino movie has a great cast, but the performances in Kill Bill: Volume 1 (and its sequel) are fantastic.

The first movie follows the Bride as she seeks to get revenge on her ex-teammates in the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad, who try to kill her on her wedding day. There are plenty of awesome moments in Kill Bill: Volume 1, including the opening, the fight at the Japanese bar House of Blue Leaves, and the Bride’s final confrontation against O-Ren Ishii.

There’s so much to love about the Kill Bill movies.
