Who’s leaving Superman and Lois as series regulars?

Superman and Lois season 4 was finally greenlit by The CW after the budget was brought down. Unfortunately, one of the ways of making that happen was a significant cast reduction, which will see the departures of seven series regulars.

As revealed by Deadline, Emmanuelle Chriqui (Lana Lang), Inde Navarrette (Sarah Cushing), Wolé Parks (John Henry Irons), Tayler Buck (Natalie Irons), Erik Valdez (Kyle Cushing), Dylan Walsh (General Sam Lane), and Sofia Hasmik (Chrissy Beppo) have all been cut as series regulars. However, there is the hope that they can reprise their roles in recurring or guest spots depending on availability and / or interest.

Are there any Superman and Lois cast members who definitely won’t be back?

Of the seven series regulars who have been cut, Dylan Walsh reportedly won’t be reprising his role as General Sam Lane in any capacity.

The actor’s wife Leslie Bourque-Walsh revealed via an Instagram post that he was one of the characters cut from the show and that he likely won’t be back in a recurring or guest capacity as it is “New beginnings for him”.

Another actor we won’t see in season 4 is Chad L. Coleman, who portrayed villain Bruno Mannheim in season 3. While Coleman was a series regular, that was just for the third season, and with the character going to prison ahead of the finale, it’s not surprising that he won’t be back in the fourth season.

Which Superman and Lois former regulars could be back in season 4?

While The CW has yet to officially announce which of the former series regulars – if any – will be back for season 4 in either a recurring or guest capacity, it looks like we can expect Erik Valdez to return as Kyle Cushing at some point.

In a recent Instagram post, the actor revealed that he was moving from Canada to Dallas, Texas, and when a fan asked if he was leaving the show in spite of the season 4 renewal, he responded: “not leaving…just a bit of a commute”.

There are also rumors that Inde Navarrette, who plays Kyle’s daughter Sarah, could also return in a limited capacity, which wouldn’t be surprising given how she has heavily featured in Jordan Kent’s storylines.

Any of the former regulars could return as guest or recurring stars if they choose to, but we’ll have to wait and see which of them will make that choice.
