1. “Demon 79”
Nida Huq (played by Anjana Vasan) was going through an experience that many people do. She worked at a job where she wasn’t appreciated, constantly taken advantage of, and too intimidated to speak up for herself. It isn’t hard to see why Nida found herself in a very dark place after all she had gone through. Those dark thoughts made her a perfect candidate to help a demon prevent the apocalypse.
“Demon 79” was easily the best-acted episode of the season, it flowed flawlessly, and never had a lull. The best part about it was the swerve at the end. The episode made it seem like the apocalypse would be prevented by showing clips from other seasons. That wasn’t the case. The entire world was destroyed via nuclear war.
However, there was a happy ending. Nida met someone who appreciated and seemed to love her. Who would’ve guessed happiness would come in the form of a demon?
This was the best representation of Black Mirror and definitely the best episode of the season.
