3. Secret Invasion
It only just started, but Secret Invasion has a lot of promise and is on track to be the best of the Marvel shows and one of the best MCU projects. The story centers around Nick Fury trying to stop a rogue group of Skrulls who want to take over the planet since he and Captain Marvel never fulfilled their promise of finding them a new one to live on permanently.
As expected, Samuel L. Jackson delivers a perfect performance and is the driving force in a show full of talented actors. With Fury as the primary focus of the series, we’ve already learned some interesting things about the character that we didn’t know before, especially about his personal life and relationships, giving more depth to the usually mysterious figure.
It’s also one of the more mature entries in the franchise, not just with its use of action or language but the quality of its storytelling. It’s especially true for the most recent episode, which has some of the strongest and best-written scenes of any Marvel Studios series.
The show is a bit of a slower burn and could be seen as boring by some viewers, but that tone really works with the paranoia aspect of the story. Only four episodes have been released, but hopefully, it can keep up the momentum and finish strong.
