11. Supergirl Season 2, Episode 1: The Adventures of Supergirl

Supergirl Season 2 kicked off with Kara finding a new home on the CW, leaving behind the old network. The episode picked up where Season 1 ended, with Kara discovering a Kryptonian pod containing an unconscious man. Meanwhile, the DEO revealed a fancy glass highrise facility.

Kara was excited about her date with James Olsen, but her sister Alex burst her bubble, questioning her true feelings. At CatCo, Kara expressed her interest in marketing, only to face Cat’s scathing read. Kara got ready for her date in adorable fashion but seemed more excited about the food than James.

The Venture Launch went awry, and Kara rushed to save the passengers. Superman arrived, and their reunion was cheesy but adorable. They saved the day, leaving everyone stranded.

Back at the DEO, Clark Kent joined the team to investigate the Kryptonian John Doe and the Venture crash. They headed to CatCo, where Clark’s awkwardness shined, and Lena Luthor’s name was dropped.

A warehouse scene revealed murder drones and the target being Lena, surprising everyone. Chaos ensued as explosions rocked the L Corp building. Supergirl and Superman held it up, while Alex defeated Corben. Kara decided to become a reporter, and James realized their relationship was in trouble. Lena shot Corben to save her own life.

The episode ended with the birth of Metallo at Cadmus. Despite the presence of Superman, the heart of the show remained with Supergirl.
