4 The Walking Dead characters who probably won’t be back in 2023
Aaron
Aaron has been a pivotal part of The Walking Dead since the fifth season, when he acted as a recruiter for the Alexandria Safe-Zone. In the years that came after that, he grew close to Rick’s group of survivors and oversaw the upkeep of both the Hilltop and Alexandria communities.
When we last saw Aaron in The Walking Dead‘s series finale, he and the survivors had overcome Pamela’s tyrannical reign over the Commonwealth and worked with Carol, Ezekiel and Mercer to ensure that the outside communities thrived with the Commonwealth’s help.
He could always make a cameo appearance in one the spinoffs, be it a farewell to Maggie at Hilltop, a welcome back to Rick or Michonne if and when they find their way back to Alexandria, but don’t be surprised if Ross Marquand’s noble hero isn’t on our screens in 2023.
Aaron can rest easy knowing that the communities he helped fight for are now safe, and with a new Commonwealth supporting them (with his allies as its leaders), he and his daughter Grace can finally enjoy some well-deserved happiness.
We’d love to see him again soon, but it might be some time until (or if) he returns. And honestly, he’s earned the rest.
