3. Alex Danvers
Kara Danvers had no bigger supporter than her big sister, Alex. Yes, she held on too tight sometimes and that resulted in some friction between the pair, but they wouldn’t have been siblings if there wasn’t. That right there is the perfect example of the authenticity of their sisterly bond, and it was one of the many reasons why audiences loved Alex so much.
One of the other reasons, however, was how strong of a character she was in her own right. Headstrong and determined, Alex was a noble soldier and a true hero, who would do whatever it took to keep those around her safe. She was calculated in her approach, understanding and studying everything before she undertook the tasks, making sure that all risks were accounted for. And that’s what made her character journey of self-discovery all the more authentic.
The fear of coming out, followed by her happiness when she accepted who she was, resonated with so many viewers around the world and watching her grow was undoubtedly one of the most fulfilling aspects of Supergirl‘s whole run. After looking after so many people for so long, Alex could finally focus on herself, finding love and happiness with wife Kelly Olsen and daughter Esme.
