4. Battlestar Galactica season three

Battlestar Galactica season 3 three was like that awkward phase between a gripping novel’s opening chapter and its peak narrative.

Don’t get me wrong, it has its moments – the opening arc is like a shot of adrenaline straight to the soul. But here’s the thing: while it does have its great moments, unforgettable episodes, and good plot development, it’s also tossed in some “just okay” episodes.

You’re feasting on two mind-blowing hours of pure TV goodness, only to find yourself slogging through an episode that feels suspiciously like a filler. Fillers are not all that bad, but in this season in particular, they always arrive just when you’re ready for the main story to continue its suspense and excitement. The up-and-down rhythm? Yeah, not my jam.

The conclusion of Battlestar Galactica season 3, highlighted by its rendition of “All Along the Watchtower,” felt like the culmination of everything the series had been brewing. It’s like the whole show had been laying down pieces of a puzzle, and suddenly, they all snapped into place.

I like my space operas with a side of consistent awesomeness, and season three’s episode swings left me feeling a little annoyed.
