5. Nick Gehlfuss

This one is definitely thinking outside of the box, but there is something about Nick Gehlfuss that makes me think he would be a breakout star if he was given the opportunity to portray a member of the X-Men. And if that character just so happened to be Gambit, then all the better.

The thing about Gehlfuss that makes me think he would actually be a brilliant choice for the MCU’s X-Men is the fact that he has spent years portraying a surgeon turned attending in an ER. In this role, he has shown us leadership, sarcasm, an ability to deliver under pressure, and of course, just that right level of fierceness that makes us think this man can handle anything.

While he may not have had superpowers or next-level strength in his role in the One Chicago series, you can’t deny that he has showcased other qualities that fall in line with the X-Men and their roles as heroes. Plus, there is just no denying the fact that Nick Gehlfuss has swagger on screen.

It is impossible to ignore the fact that the actor has many of the qualities we expect from our next Gambit. He can bring the sarcasm and whit. He has already showcased his brilliant mind and ability to be a hero under fire. And of course, there is just no denying the fact that Gehlfuss knows how to be a scene stealer, which we absolutely want from our next Remy LeBeau.

Honestly, this pick might seem odd, but the more you look at the actor on paper (and especially in his role as Dr. Will Halstead), the more right it seems.
