3. Returning to the heart of the original

The DCU needs to do something different with the next Wonder Woman film. Simply put, they need to get back to what worked, focusing on character over big-budget box office. We all remember the original Wonder Woman movie, and how it gave us a real connection with Diana and her journey. But Wonder Woman 1984 seemed to lose that essence in its pursuit of flashy visuals.

A lower budget film, let’s say under $120M (low by comparison to WW84) that’s character-driven and dives into Wonder Woman’s personal struggles in the modern world would be money.

The first Wonder Woman movie nailed it because it understood that we cared about Diana’s growth just as much as the action. It wasn’t just about the battles; it was about her evolution from a warrior finding her path to a true hero. But when we watched Wonder Woman 1984, that aspect felt… off.

Fans today are smart. We want stories that touch us on a personal level. Imagine a Wonder Woman film that dives deep into Diana’s struggles in a world that’s so different from hers. Loneliness, the weight of immortality, the challenge of being a symbol of hope in a complex society One way this could work is by giving her a character to help, maybe another her. Do that, and the film could create a deep connection.
