9. Nora Darhk

Nora Darhk is one of the finest cases of character development on a television show in the past decade. For real, who else do you know that went from possessed-daughter-of-demonic-man to Fairy Godmother in the space of three seasons?

The character of Nora originated on Arrow as the child daughter of Damien Darhk. She then returned as an adult in Legends‘ third season when Mallus, the demon who brought Damien back from the dead, was aiming to use her body as a vessel for himself. Damien helped the Legends free Nora and sacrificed himself in the process.

Nora’s journey could have ended there, but she ended up joining the Legends full-time. Initially a prisoner of the Time Bureau for the evildoings she was involved in, she redeemed herself by showing that she was an inherently good person who was just under a very bad influence at the time. And a large part of that redemption had to do with her love for Ray Palmer.

The pair’s growing relationship, as well as Nora’s friendships with Ava and Mona, was among the best established on the show, and if she absolutely had to be written out in season 5, we’re glad she and Ray got the happy endings they deserved.

Courtney Ford did a wonderful job, ensuring that we all fell in love with Nora (almost as much as Ray did). What a beautiful performance!
