5. Jordan Kent

If somebody suggested that the main character of Superman and Lois season 1 was really Jordan Kent, they might actually be onto something. After all, the first episode saw him develop his super-powers (just hours after learning his father was Superman). Since then, it’s been an uphill battle for him as he learned how to be a superhero and juggled that with being a normal teenager.

Discovering he had powers was a major part of Jordan’s character arc in the first season as it gave him a purpose he didn’t know he was craving. It also brought him much closer to his family, who he struggled to communicate with. His battles with social anxiety disorder and his own lack of confidence also took center stage as he had to reconcile having powers with everything else he was going through in his life.

His relationship with Sarah Cushing was also an incredibly endearing part of the show in its first season, as the pair became anchors for one another; someone who saw the other in a way nobody else could. Unfortunately, the two have gone round in circles in the seasons that followed, with both of them infuriating fans on a loop, and that has hurt both characters in the long run.

Jordan can be infuriating in his own right as well, but when he is guided back to his character journey and the goals he tries to follow, he’s a shining light on the show. Alex Garfin portrays him with such an endearing and lovable quality and that particularly comes through whenever he shares the screen with his fellow Kent family castmates.

We hope Jordan stays the course and continues to fly up, up, and away.
