4. John Henry Irons
Remember the days when we all thought John Henry Irons was the mystery villain from another earth named “Captain Luthor”? My, how times have changed.
John Henry is one of Superman and Lois‘ greatest heroes. A man who fought to protect his world from an evil Superman, he was terrified that the show’s primary version of the Man of Steel could end up following in those footsteps. He was driven by rage and the loss of his wife (the Lois Lane of his earth) and the fear of it all happening again nearly resulted in him taking out this world’s Man of Steel.
Upon realizing that this world’s Kal-El was a good man, he became an ally – such an ally that when Clark was corrupted, he was the one that saved him.
Irons might be known as “Steel” but he has a heart of gold, one that is full of love for those close to him. He’s a great man who is always there when his daughter Natalie, or his friends need him. And we couldn’t imagine the show without him (or Wolé Parks’ wonderful performance).
It’s easy to see why John Henry is such a fan-favorite.
