Gal Gadot

DC hasn’t exactly had the best luck with casting decisions, but Gal Gadot was an exception. Gadot was perfectly cast as Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman, perfectly embodying the character and delivering a standout performance within the DCEU across her time as the Amazonian warrior.

When a reboot was announced, Gadot’s future was immediately thrown into question and it looked like we had seen the last of Gadot as Wonder Woman. So we were understandably thrilled when Gadot told Flaunt Magazine that Wonder Woman 3 was in development and that James Gunn and Peter Safran were looking to keep her in the mix.

"“I was invited to a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran,” Gadot said, “and what they told me, and I’m quoting: ‘You’re in the best hands. We’re going to develop Wonder Woman 3 with you. [We] love you as Wonder Woman— you’ve got nothing to worry about.’ So time will tell.”"

Despite seeming to give Gadot hope that the plan was to still include her Wonder Woman in the new DCU and expressing a desire for a third film, it was only days after Gadot’s comments came to light that DC seemed to dispel any plans for her return.

The situation was entirely messy and never should have happened. DC did Gadot so dirty in giving her false hope only to quickly squash the hope she gave fans about her future in the DCU.
