6. Angel

Remember Angel of the X-Men? The winged hero truly was a more traditional take on what it was to be a high-flying superhero. Warren Worthington III was confident with an aristocratic persona, but a layer of complexity lay deep within as fought his inner struggles. FOX did a good job of establishing Angel’s personality. The problem was he was a plot device more than the character fans knew from the comics.

In the original trilogy, we saw Angel contemplating taking the cure but ultimately decided his wings were a gift. We didn’t get to see him become a hero or join the X-Men. The next time we saw him was as Apocolypse’s henchmen in one of the worst X-Men films of all time.

In the MCU, we need to see Angel as the daring hero who threatens Cyclops for leadership on the team. We need to see his charismatic personality shine as one of the original members of the X-Men. We can see some internal conflict in the early films, with Jean being one of them. In the end, we’ll see Scott and Angel’s friendship develop through their desire and goal to make the X-Men to be great. Angel is too important to the group to not feature, so make it happen.
