5. He’s still exciting

It’s been some time since John Cena has been a full-time competitor for WWE. He’s been making a name for himself in Hollywood, receiving acclaim for his leading performance in DC’s Peacemaker series on Max. However, whenever he returns to the ring, it’s clear that he’s still got it.

During his appearance at WrestleMania 39 earlier this year and his more recent appearance during NXT, John Cena received the same loud cheers and chorus of “John Cena sucks” chants that he’s always gotten throughout his career. While the latter seems insulting, it’s not. He’s embraced it and the fans love him for it. If they didn’t, he’d be met with silence, which is much much worse than boos. No, with Cena, people always have something to say, and that’s a good thing.

People can say whatever they want, but believing that John Cena is still not the man is ridiculous. It’s more than okay to not enjoy a wrestler. Not acknowledging that he still brings excitement to an arena is delusional. Whether you tune in to see him lose or win, you’re still watching.

Cena is the man and he can still pack out arenas – just like he has done for almost 20 years.
