Jenna Ortega

American talent Jenna Ortega has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry in recent years and is one of the most popular young actresses of the moment. The 21-year-old California native began her career as a child, making her acting debut at the age of nine in the CBS sitcom Rob. From there, she began appearing in popular movies and shows, including Iron Man 3 and Jane the Virgin. In 2016, she landed her first big starring role as the lead of Disney Channel’s Stuck in the Middle.

The mainstream audience then really started paying attention to Ortega when she appeared in the second season of the Netflix Original You.

Having already appeared in a horror movie at a young age, You then really jumpstarted Ortega’s career in the genre. She followed the show up with appearances in the horror movies The Babysitter: Killer Queen, X, Studio 666, Scream (2022), and its sequel Scream VI. By now, she’s on her way to becoming a certified scream queen, and her starring role in Netflix’s Wednesday has solidified her status as a horror actress. She also scooped up her first Emmy Award and Golden Globe nomination for her portrayal of the Addams daughter.

Given the fact that we know horror is her strong suit, Ortega would be the perfect fit to play Laurie Strode in a re-imagined Halloween. She’d be fantastic as one of the most iconic final girls of all time, bringing her sweet and innocent demeanor to the naive version of Laurie at the start of the story and her badassery and determination to the more mature version. Wednesday Addams is a career-defining role for Ortega, and Laurie Strode would be an even more impactful one.

Of course, Ortega still needs to film Wednesday season 2 and complete any unfinished work on Beetlejuice 2 — along with any of the other upcoming credits listed on her IMDb page — but a Halloween series with her in the lead would be worth the wait.
