21. Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman

An all-but-forgotten relic from the world of Batman: The Animated SeriesBatman: Mystery of the Batwoman is an extension of The New Batman Adventures, featuring the sharper designs that the revamp series is known for.

Released in 2003, it introduced a new iteration of Batwoman to screens (three years before the official DC Comics reboot of the character in 2006). She didn’t seem to catch on in the way that other DCAU creations influenced the comics, but she proved to be a formidable adversary (and later partner) to Batman and Robin as they were drawn into a saga involving one family’s war with villains such as The Penguin, Bane, and Rupert Thorne.

Most of Batman’s DCAU movies are renowned for offering up some extraordinary writing that set them apart from the majority of the movies on this list. This one is just a fun and enjoyable addition that essentially functions as an extended episode. And you know what, that’s okay – because I’d take a fun and enjoyable sequel to Batman: The Animated Series over the vast majority of films any day of the week.

And if you’re not singing “Betcha Never” after this one, did you even watch it?
