5. The future is bright
The ending was a perfect send-off. For the first time, Peter could focus on himself. This doesn’t even happen in the comics. For once everything is going well. Peter’s entering a new part of his life.
Peter and MJ finally moved in together, Peter’s beginning the first stages of the Emily-May Foundation on his own, and MJ is starting a new career as a podcaster/reporter. As much as Peter wanted to continue being Spider-Man, he knew that New York was in good hands with Miles. Watching Peter pass the torch was exactly how you’d expect it to go. Peter couldn’t find the words, but Miles understood. It was heartwarming.
Insomniac Games announced that Miles Morales is their Spider-Man going forward. With Miles Morales: Spider-Man being a popular PlayStation game, and the character being loved, this only makes sense. Insomniac Games knew what they were doing the minute Miles appeared in their first project. It’s good to know that they’re aware of what the fans want and know how to make it happen. Everyone loves Peter Parker, but he’s starred in video games for decades. It’s time for some new blood to take over.
