26. Gaston

"“This is the day your dreams come true.” -Gaston"

Most Disney villains are arrogant or narcissistic. Gaston is a little bit of both, except his confidence isn’t justified. He’s handsome and strapping, and his animal trophies highlight his skills as a hunter (not that he should be proud of them). Despite all of that, Gaston is an idiot with delusions of grandeur. The funny part is this is why Gaston is on this list.

A villain needs flaws.  For Gaston, they’re all mental. He hasn’t advanced past his physical appearance. Unfortunately, Gaston never had to. Everyone praised him but never held him accountable. All of this leads to his life of privilege and a satisfying downfall.

In short (sing it with me), no one’s as dim as Gaston, as clueless as Gaston. No one falls off a building and dies like Gaston.

25. Timon and Pumbaa

"“It’s our problem-free philosophy Hakuna Matata!” -Timon and Pumbaa"

The Lion King is one of Disney’s most popular and successful movies. Part of it had to do with the film balancing the drama, action, and comedy. A lot of the latter can be attributed to Timon and Pumbaa.

The two characters arrived right when the show hit its saddest point. Mufasa just died, Simba was chased out of his home, and Scar was now in charge. Like two goofy, disgusting, merciful angels, Timon and Pumbaa arrived to give the crowd much-needed laughter.

Not only are they funny, but they also gave everyone the phrase and song “Hakuna Matata.” A tune that was in everyone’s minds forever. They’re easily one of the best duos of any genre.
