2. Mark and Nolan’s conversation

During the comics, when Mark met Nolan on Thraxa, he was more understanding. Sure, Mark was upset in the source material, but he was angrier during this episode. The reaction in this episode seemed more realistic.

As much as this writer loves the source material, this was a better scene. Mark went through a traumatic situation. He was beaten close to death by his father who also called his mother a pet. Being angry and telling Nolan off is understandable. However, Mark Grayson in the comics wasn’t as wrathful yet. Had they met further along in the comics, he may have cursed at his dad.

1. Nolan going to Thraxa

When Nolan left Earth, he was lost. He didn’t know who he was anymore or what his next step would be. In the TV series, he saves the beings of Thraxa from crashing into a planet. In the comic book, he just happens to come across planet Thraxa and plans on conquering it. He hoped that it would make up for failing to over Earth.

However, both the comics and the show have something in common: Nolan getting to Thraxa was happenstance. Whether it was due to him helping Thraxans or coming across the planet by accident, it was meant to happen.
