Bret Hart vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin

Event: WrestleMania 13

This could be the greatest wrestling match ever. Bret Hart’s claim of being, “The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be.” was put to the test. In the end, it was proven to be true. On the other side was the rising tide that was “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Everyone could see how special he was, but he had to go through the current top dog to prove it. After the match ended, it was clear that the WWE just booked the greatest ending of all time.

First, the victory. Bret’s victory wasn't just Stone Cold's loss. Austin didn’t tap out. Rather than give Bret Hart the satisfaction, the pain forced him to pass out. Bret still came out on top, but Austin didn't quit. The latter is important to Austin's character. He was supposed to be the guy that never gave up.

Then there was the visual as the match was winding down. Austin’s face was covered in blood while he was in Bret Hart's Sharpshooter. It's an image that's used whenever the big moments of WrestleMania are talked about. It shows the passion and pain it takes to be one of the best. Only competitors like Austin and Bret could pull this off.

What other matches would recommend to new WWE fans? Should some of these not be on the list?
