7. Adrianne Palicki (as fake Kara)

Adrianne Palicki technically didn't play Kara Zor-El, but as the character she was playing on Smallville believed she was the young Girl of Steel, we're choosing to include her on this list. It wouldn't have been right to exclude her when discussing all of the great actors to play the role, because she is in all honesty, she was great.

Palicki channelled the comic book version of Kara when bringing the character to life, as this iteration was direct, inquisitive, and much more powerful than Kal-El. She was also pretty reckless at times, which heightened the tension every time she was on-screen. Palicki was thrilling in her performance as you genuinely didn't know what this version of the character was going to do next.

This was only the beginning of a successful stretch in the superhero and science fiction genres for Palicki, as she went on to portray Wonder Woman in the NBC pilot, appear as Bobbi Morse in Marvel's Agents of SHIELD, and play a major role in The Orville.

Even though this wasn't the real Kara that she was playing, it did highlight that she would be fantastic if she ever played the real Girl of Steel.
