Is Blizzard Going To Be Appearing On Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. In January?

And the answer is… quite possibly. Our parent site FanSided.com posted earlier today that in the January 14 episode of “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” David Minnette will play the role of Donald Gill. Props to them for also realizing that Gill is the civilian identity of the second man to become the Marvel super villain Blizzard (though he prefers the nickname Donnie in the comics),who as you might guess, has a costume that allows him to freeze things.

While we probably shouldn’t expect Gill to appear in costume right away, it’s not totally out of the question that the writers are setting him up for future appearances as Blizzard on TV or in one of the Marvel films. Blizzard is best known as an Iron Man villain, and his suit-based cold powers would make for great visuals. Plus he gets his cryogenic suit in the comics from Justin Hammer, a character who’s already been established in the Marvel Cinematic Universe thanks to his appearance in “Iron Man 2.”

Since there’s already some pretty nifty tech available in the world of “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” thanks to Tony Stark and some of his friends and foes, bad guys like Blizzard aren’t really that far-fetched. We’ve already seen Franklin Hall and his seeming transformation into Graviton (in the episode, “The Asset”), so don’t be surprised if this upcoming episode ends up being another origin story, at least in part.
