CW Renews Arrow For A Third Season

The adventures of Oliver Queen aren’t going to end this year.

The CW announced an early renewal for “Arrow” today, meaning it will be back for a third season this fall. It joins “The Vampire Diaries,” “Supernatural,” “Reign” and “The Originals” in getting an early renewal among the network’s current offerings.

During the announcement, CW President Mark Pedowitz cited how “Arrow” is “continuing to gain among young men” in its ratings numbers. Could that have something to do with the fact that Season 2 has less of an emphasis on a love triangle (though maybe Ollie-Sara-Nyssa counts as a new one) and more of a focus on action in Starling City?

If nothing else, this means the showrunners can feel free to write some kind of season-ending cliffhanger if they haven’t done so already. And if “The Flash” can make it into the CW lineup, there could be a very heavy DC flavor to this fall.

Can’t wait!
