Doesn’t Anyone Want To Direct Ant-Man?

If this keeps up, both Hank Pym and Scott Lang are going to have a complex (possibly not the first for Pym).

Why? Because no one seems to want to direct their adventures on the big screen. First Edgar Wright dropped out. Then came word that Adam McKay passed. Now the latest from ThisIsInfamous.com is that Rawson Thurber has also said thanks but no thanks to Marvel.

That leaves us with only Ruben Fleischer on the studio’s supposed wish list. And if he declines to direct, then what?

Our sister site Lightly Buzzed is wondering whether Marvel should just punt on Ant-Man or beg Wright to return. If it’s the latter, maybe he should just be free to set the movie’s tone to whatever he wants since that’s what supposedly made him leave in the first place.

We’ve had our own misgivings about the way the buzz on this film was trending, but my personal hope is that Marvel pulls this together, finds someone who really wants to do the characters justice and delivers something solid. Otherwise, Ant-Man is going to end up as a joke, and not the funny kind.
