Clark Gregg Expects A Darker Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 2

Ready to see Agent Phil Coulson and his team get down and dirty more often on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?

The man who plays Coulson thinks we will, not only because the show is moving to 9 pm for Season 2, but also because of the situation the team found itself in after the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the wild ending to its first season. Clark Gregg is always good for an entertaining analogy, and here’s one he used during an interview with Collider:

"You’ve got to rebuild S.H.I.E.L.D. from the ground up in a much more dangerous world where your group is outlawed. So it feels like the early, Sean Connery James Bond with the brass knuckles and not afraid to knock somebody off."

Gregg was also enthused that the show will air in long, interrupted runs. However it will take a mid-season break so that Agent Carter can air on the same night and time. One wonders if avoiding sporadic weeks off is worth taking a long break in the middle or not.

We’ll find out this fall when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns Tuesdays at 9 on ABC.
