Nathan Fillion Is Not Playing Nova In Guardians Of The Galaxy

At least he’s not if you believe the director of Guardians of the Galaxy, James Gunn. He said as much on Twitter over the weekend:

The reason Gunn even had to comment on Nathan Fillion featuring as Nova was a Latino Review piece speculating that this would be the case (scroll all the way down, it’s there). Personally, Fillion seems to this writer to be a little too old to put on Richard Rider’s helmet.

Gunn did say that Fillion will have a “very small fun cameo,” but given the vast scope of the cosmic side of the Marvel Universe, that doesn’t give us much to work with as far as guessing who it could be. We won’t have long to wait to find out in any case, as Guardians of the Galaxy is headed for North American theaters on August 1.
