It’s official!  In its announcement for the 2014 – 2015 season, ABC will premiere season two of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on Tuesday, September 23rd at 9/8c.  The new timeslot is a change from season one where it was aired at 8/7c.

The last time we left our ragtag group of heroes, Agent Coulson was promoted to be the new Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. by Nick Fury, Grant Ward was arrested and imprisoned for being a loyalist to the evil Hydra (Notice I didn’t give him the title of “Agent”?  That’s right, I went there.  He doesn’t deserve it.  The man’s a traitor and is not a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent in my eyes.), and our beloved Agent Fitz almost died when he selflessly sacrificed himself to improve the survival chances of Agent Simmons.  Though Fitz didn’t die, his fate is unknown.  In the last episode, when asked by Skye if Fitz was okay, Simmons only answered with, “He’s alive.”  From a brief exposition after their rescue by Nick Fury, we only know that Fitz suffered oxygen deprivation.  I guess season two will be Fitz’s journey back to becoming an integral part of the team.  Trust me, the wait is killing me too.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. stars Clark Gregg as Director Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Grant Ward, Chloe Bennett as Skye, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, and Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons.
