CBS Is Looking At Claire Holt For Supergirl

Via The Wrap, we’re getting reports that Claire Holt is up for the titular role in CBS’s Supergirl.  Recently, Holt starred as Rebekah Mikaelson, an original vampire, on The CW’s The Vampire Diaries and its spinoff, The Originals.

Born in Australia, Claire Holt started her career in 2006 on Network Ten’s children’s show H2O: Just Add Water, where she played the role of Emma Gilbert.  Her work on the show earned her a Logie Award and a Nickelodeon Australia Kids’ Choice Award.  Holt left the show to star in 2009’s Messengers 2: The Scarecrow, a straight-to-DVD film.  In August of 2011, Holt was confirmed for the role of Rebekah Mikaelson in The CW’s hit series The Vampire Diaries.  Later, on January 13, 2013, it was announced that Holt would reprise her role in The Originals.  Holt’s final appearance on The Originals was on its Season One finale, which aired on May 13, 2014.

As of now, casting and screen tests are in their early stages.  It was only last month that we received reports of former Arrow and The Flash casting director David Rapaport being tasked with finding the actress who will play Superman’s cousin.  Recent reports have suggested that Supergirl may exist within the The CW’s Arrow-verse which also includes The Flash.  All three shows are being produced by Greg Berlanti.

And for the people wondering — yes, I accidentally found a picture of Claire Holt dressed in a blue top with a red skirt, and thought it would be a perfect way to visualize her in the role.
