The Scene: Don’t Make Me Angry
“Mr. McGee, don’t make me angry. You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry.” These were the haunting words echoed by the first live-incarnation of Bruce Banner, portrayed by the late great Bill Bixby, with bodybuilder extraordinaire Lou Ferrigno as Banner when he’s “angry.” You get the gist. We’ve seen him Hulk-out on many occasions and leave a path of destruction wherever he goes, and it’s no different in the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer. But how powerful can the Hulk get?
From the Pages of Comics
The current state of the Hulk’s strength depends on the current anger level of the Hulk. The age-old mantra has always been, “The angrier the Hulk gets, the stronger the Hulk gets.” His superhuman abilities have included leaping into lower Earth orbit and across continents; the ability to run at superhuman speed; the ability to withstand nuclear explosions; and the ability to recover from the destruction of his overall body — essentially making him immortal. The only limitations on the Hulk seem to be Bruce Banner internally holding him back.
