The Flash Season 3, Episode 4 Synopsis: “The New Rogues”

The Flash plays mentor to Jesse Quick when they face off with new super villain Mirror Master.

On The Flash‘s “Magenta” episode, a new meta human was created (or should I say “recreated”) by Doctor Alchemy in the form of Magenta—an abused teenage girl named Frankie Kane who could control metal. Yeah, think of her as a DC version of Magneto.

Driven by anger and hate from years of abuse, Magenta was a split personality who went after her foster father, allowing nothing to stand in her way—even if it meant hurting people. Soon, Harry Wells and daughter Jesse arrived to help (okay, they later helped). Harry had his own problem: Jesse was now a speedster. He wanted Barry to talk her out of being a hero.

In the end, Harry accepted that Jesse had to find her own way and that there could never be enough metas doing good for the world. Jesse joined the Flash and defeated the Magenta side of Frankie.

This week, Jesse returns to start her hero training and the Flash will be her Mister Miyagi. She’ll be thrown right into the thick of it when they face off with Mirror Master and Top. But like all enthusiastic students, Jesse may not always follow the teacher’s guidance. Plus, fan-favorite Leonard Snart / Captain Cold makes his return for the first time since DC’s Legend of Tomorrow‘s Season 1 finale. Here’s the official synopsis:

“The New Rogues”

"WENTWORTH MILLER RETURNS AS CAPTAIN COLD; MIRROR MASTER AND THE TOP BATTLE WITH THE FLASH — Barry (Grant Gustin) continues to train Jesse (guest star Violett Beane) and when a new meta human, Mirror Master (guest star Grey Damon), appears on the scene he lets her tag along. Mirror Master has teamed up with his old partner, Top (guest star Ashley Rickards), and is looking for Snart (Wentworth Miller) to even a score. Jesse is quick to join the chase but defies one of Barry’s orders which results in disastrous consequences."
