No actor in this century has been as synonymous with one superhero as Jackman, who has already made six appearances as Wolverine. It’s clear he enjoys the role, but in the first real case of an actor aging out of a comic book part, he’s made peace with the idea that he’s going to hang up the claws after one last solo outing.

The plot of said film remains a mystery. Early speculation that it would be a take on the dystopian future “Old Man Logan” arc from the comics has mostly been dismissed, so fans are waiting anxiously for more insight. As long as it’s better than X-Men Origins: Wolverine, it has a chance to be a fitting send-off. Then we can all start debating who the next person will be to portray Wolverine, because you know this won’t be the end for the character in movies.
