Percy Jackson and the Olympians
13 years after Rick Riordan’s beloved bestselling book series was adapted for a pair of feature films that came with mixed reactions, Percy Jackson got his chance to shine once again in 2023 this time via a new Disney+ original series. Expectations were sky-high for the series which managed to blow them out of the water and deliver what has been hailed as one of the best book-to-TV adaptations of all time.
Following its breakout first season, the hit series returns in 2025 with its second season which will draw inspiration from the second book in the series, The Sea of Monsters. In the book, Percy and his friends once again race against the clock this time after Thalia’s tree is poisoned resulting in the magical borders of Camp Half-Blood beginning to fall. The journey tests the heroes in new ways with Percy having to come into his own as a hero in order to rescue his friend Grover while juggling with coming to terms with a shocking secret about his family which forces Percy to question whether it’s actually an honor or a curse to be the son of Poseidon.
Fans are in store for what should be an amazing second season and we’ll get to not only see the returns of our favorite trio but also the additions of several new characters who will be entering the mix along the way!
Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 is coming to Disney+ sometime in 2025.
Marvel Zombies
While What If… might have come to an end, the franchise will live on in 2025 via the highly anticipated limited series spinoff Marvel Zombies. The 4-episode event series will pick up where we left off back in season 1 of What If… which asked the question, what if The Avengers are infected by a zombie plague?
The episode was not only one of the best episodes of the show’s first season but one of the best episodes from the entire series. It was an episode that left fans eager for more and Marvel is answering the call with this spinoff series which promises to up the ante by going full TV-MA!
While it’s unclear how the events of the series will play out or exactly how much time might have passed between the events of the show and that of “What If… Zombies?!” aired back in 2021, what we do know is that Marvel has lined up an amazing voice cast that includes Awkwafina, David Harbour, Simu Liu, Elizabeth Olsen, Randall Park, Florence Pugh, Hailee Steinfeld, Dominique Thorne, Iman Vellani, and Todd Williams.
Marvel Zombies is sure to be the perfect Halloween event series and one that fans aren’t going to want to sleep on!
