Gotham: Robin Lord Taylor cast as The Penguin
By Josh Hill
The cast of Gotham is starting to fill out nicely as the show is finally filling in massive characters with great actors. There’s no home run swings here like there is with Batman vs. Superman, but the character we will be seeing are very familiar and will be great to see brought to life in a different way.
One of the most notable roles cast yet is that of Oswald Cobblepot — better known as The Penguin. Variety is reporting that Robin Lord Taylor has been cast in the role and we even got some character description to whet our appetites.
"Robin Lord Taylor will play Oswald Cobblepot, or the man better known as DC Comics villain the Penguin. With the brains of a chess grandmaster and the morals of a jackal, Cobblepot is a low-level psychopath for gangster Fish Mooney, and hides his sadistic lust for power behind an exquisitely polite demeanor."
We haven’t ever seen The penguin operating under anyone before as all on-screen carnations of the character have seen him operating on his own level. This is a prequel series though, so this sort of thing is expected, but it’s a nice twist on a character we haven’t heard from in a long time.
