Remember what we said about the quality of the song being unrelated to the quality of its movie? Consider this Exhibit A. Kells totally knocked it out of the park on this hope-filled anthem to Batman’s home, despite the fact that fans don’t even like thinking about the George Clooney-starring, batsuit-nipple-filled mess that spawned it. This song is just a lot less goofy than the movie, hands down.

I don’t remember it this way, but “Gotham City” climbed all the way to #9 on the Billboard Hot 100, meaning that everything still ahead of it counts as a bona fide smash.
