Interest in Spider-Man is about to skyrocket wit the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 this upcoming May, and as a result it appears that Marvel is going all out in it’s attempts to grow the franchise as much as possible. One way that this is going to happen is with a recently announced miniseries that will retrace the origins of Spider-Man and give fans an inside look at what it was like for Peter Parker in his first days as Spider-Man.

According to Unleash the Fanboy, Marvel will be publishing a five issue miniseries titled Amazing Spider-Man Year One: Learning to Crawl and it will follow Peter Parker in his first 60-days as the web slinging hero we all know him as today.

"Slott will pen a five-issue miniseries titled Amazing Spider-Man-Year One: Learning to Crawl, with art by Ramón Pérez (described as “Ditko-esque”). Each issue will follow Marvel’s “point one” numbering style, with the miniseries starting with #1.1 and ending with #1.5."

The series is being penned by Spider-Man writer Dan Slotts and should be coming to stores this May to coincide with the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on May 2, 2014.
