A New Team Forms To Protect The Ultimate Universe In All-New Ultimates #1
By Nick Tylwalk
The Ultimates are no more. Long live the Ultimates.
In the aftermath of Cataclysm, a brand new, much younger group of heroes is taking its rightful place on the front lines of the transformed Ultimate Universe. With a nasty crime wave threatening New York City, Spider-Man, Black Widow, Kitty Pryde, Bombshell, Cloak and Dagger come together. Is this new team up for the challenges they’ll face, or will they wilt against threats like Diamondback and the Serpent Skulls or the serial killer of super beings known as Scourge?
Those questions will begin to be answered in All-New Ultimates #1, from the team of writer Michel Fiffe and artist Amilcar Pinna. Here’s what Fiffe told Marvel.com about the first issue:
"It’s a war zone in the streets of New York, Hell’s Kitchen in particular. Certain neighborhoods have been torn apart by the recent galactic cataclysm and crime is exponentially growing; local super-powered gangs rule the environment. That’s where Miles and the gang come in, to act with a grittier, more immediate problem while trying to find their own footing as super heroes."
All-New Ultimates #1 can be found at your LCS or on digital on April 9, but you can see some of Pinna’s work (plus the cover by David Nakayama up above) right here.
