End credit scene controversy for Amazing Spider-Man 2

Man in Shadows walking past Vulture and Dr Octopus suits in possible end credit scene from trailer?

We still have little to no answers about what the hell was going on in that Amazing Spider-Man end credit scene with the mysterious man in the shadows. And it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting any answers during the sequel Amazing Spider-Man 2 either. So many people pinned their hopes on a big reveal for the end credit scene of the second film.

However on the social networking site Reddit, user youdonthavetotrustme posted his version of the end-credit scene, which he claimed to have seen during a screening of a rough-cut of the movie.

"Norman dies in TASM2 from his mystery illness. Said mystery illness can be cured by Peter’s blood. Harry and Electro fail to obtain this and he passes. Harry is sent to Ravencroft at the film’s end. After credits scene involves The Man In Shadows from the first film walking up to Norman’s cryogenically frozen head in a chamber and saying, “Wake up old friend.”"

However this Reddit user was quickly debunked on account that a lot of the things he was saying were proven false, and on the basis that his theory had been reported by Comicbookmovie.com beforehand. So to conclude no-one believed the Reddit user, who had quite clearly just used rumours from other sites, and the ‘Norman Osborn head in a box’ rumour went away.

That was until very recently. Comicbookmovie and various other sites posted a picture that seemingly proved the theory that in the end-credits scene we would in fact be confronted by Norman Osborn’s head cryogenically frozen. Most websites have since had to take the image down but this is the image, including the ‘Man in the Shadows’ and just to the left of him you can see a blue looking box…

And if you take a closer look at the blue looking box in chamber 3 you see this

Is this Norman Osborn’s head in the Amazing Spider-Man 2 end-credit scene?

It appears that the end-credit scene is going to be a big reveal for the Sinister-Six with the photo at the top of this article being ‘The Man in Shadows’ walking past what appears to be a Vulture harness and Doctor Octopus’ arms. Then he moves on to the chamber with Norman’s head, possibly setting him up as the man behind everything?
