The celebration of Batman’s 75th anniversary is underway and today I bring you news of a new animated Batman short by Bruce Timm. Timm, who partnered with Paul Dini and brought us Batman the Animated Series, may have stepped down as lead producer at WB Animation but he is still bringing us Batman animation, which is sure to be awesome. ‘Batman Strange Days’ is presented as a lost tale from Batman’s past, and based on the images that have been released so far, in black and white. Lucas Siegel at newsarama.com had this to say about ‘Batman Strange Days’:

"Together with Paul Dini, Bruce Timm set off nothing short of an animation revolution when he helped launch Batman: The Animated Series, and now after recently stepping down as lead producer at WB Animation, he’s come back to his roots with an all-new animated short centered on Batman. Debuting April 9, 2014 alongside the new episode of Teen Titans Go!, the short features Batman going up against Dr. Hugo Strange."

I really like the style of animation Bruce Timm has used for this short, and I can’t wait to see it. Usually I’m not a fan of the really tall ears on the cowl but I think it works well for this style. I love most of Bruce Timm’s Batman work and can’t wait to see it! Check Caped Crusades after it airs (on April 9th) for a review of ‘Batman Strange Days’!
