DC Comics Interviews Dustin Nguyen for Batman Month

As an on going part of their Batman Month celebration, dccomics.com has interviewed comic artist Dustin Nguyen, about his new Li’l Gotham action figures. Dustin Nguyen has worked on titles like Detective Comics, Batman: Streets of Gotham, and Superman/Batman. But he is probably best known for Batman: Li’l Gotham, a Digital First series.

"To get a sense of how this all came together, and to find out more about Dustin in general, we sat down with him to ask him a few questions. When you first started drawing these li’l guys, I think you showed us sketches years ago, did you ever expect to see them in three dimensions?I never imagined this. I originally wanted them to be snow globes! I’m glad we waited this long. My original sketches looked horrible. I was still developing the look. I think I started drawing them as babies."

I haven’t found the time to read Batman: Li’l Gotham yet, but I’m always interested in reading more on Batman, be they comics, graphic novels, or non-fiction titles. My only issue is with the Batman Li’l Gotham figure, he seems a little too well endowed, especially for a figure of a child friendly comic series. None of the other figures seem to have this problem, but I’m not sure that I want a Batman action figure with a prominent package. I wonder if I’m the only one to notice this?
