Marc Webb hints at J. Jonah Jameson for Amazing Spider-Man 3

Will J. Jonah Jameson be in Amazing Spider-Man 3?

So SevenWebHeads was invited to a Google+ hangout with the cast of the Amazing Spider-Man 2 (not jealous at all. AT ALL) and during it he asked a very pertinent and very good question. What the hell are you doing with J Jonah. Jameson and will we actually see him in future Spider-Man movies. Okay, so I may have paraphrased a little bit but I’ve got the general gist of the question at least. Here’s the video of the question being asked

Webb’s reply was particularly interesting!

"“I like the idea very much of him coming up in the next film. It was more easy to accept a new Spider-Man than someone who could out do J.K. Simmons in that role, he is so iconic. That’s something we’ve really talked about. Obviously I love that character because he poses such an interesting dilemma for Spider-Man. The answer is I don’t know, but I think you can expect to see him in the future.”"

So there we go, it’s looking likely that the so far teased Daily Bugle editor will eventually be appearing on screen in the future although the debate of who could play Jameson rages on. Personally if there’s such a furor about replacing J.K. Simmons as the character why not just recast him? Dame Judy Dench has played M in so many Bond films that they threw continuity out of the window because fans liked her as M, and because she was perfect in the role. I see no reason why Sony can’t do the same here.
