Will we see Electro again?
By Daniel Wood
Electro
Jamie Foxx’s Electro was a pretty decent villain in Amazing Spider-Man 2, I found his tragic backstory and rather exaggerated loneliness and social outcasting to be a bit of a distraction but when he finally had his tragic killer electric eel accident and became one with electricity the character really came into his stride and provided us with some truly stunning action sequences.
Now, I’m about to talk about how the film ends. Specifically what happens to Electro, so if you don’t want to know what happens to him, or what happens in the film in general then stop reading now. I’m going to post a nice happy picture of Electro just below this paragraph and then there will be spoilers!
Electro
So the final battle in the power plant sees a rampant Electro almost besting Spider-Man on several occasions, however with a little help from Gwen Stacy (so tragic) he manages to overpower Electro and cause the villain to implode for taking on too much power. We then see the electricity reading thingy in his head run down to zero, indicating that the electricity based foe is dead.
Which would seem to indicate that not only will we not see Electro again, but that he definitely won’t be in the Sinister Six film. But, is the character really dead or will he be back? Jamie Foxx certainly seems to think so with this hint that he gave Total Film sometime last year
"“Yes, they actually talked about it, the Sinister Six… So, fingers crossed, because when you think about it electricity never dies it just goes to a different place”"
So from that comment and from what we know of the character Electro I think it’s certainly safe to say that we’ll definitely be seeing the big blue bad guy again. I fully expect him to make a ‘surprise’ return in the Sinister Six film.
