Deathlok, Lockjaw And The Young Avengers Face Their Secrets In Original Sins #1
By Nick Tylwalk
You wanted the secrets, you got the secrets! The hottest band in the world … wait, sorry, that’s something else.
What we’re talking about is the secrets that every hero in the Marvel Universe has, and how they’re going to play out in the pages of Original Sins. Not to be confused with the limited series of the non-plural form, every issue of Original Sins will have three stories exploring how what was once hidden is now out in the light.
“Like the ultimate NSA leak, the Watcher – regardless of whether you’re a hero, villain, innocent bystander – the Watcher has seen everything you’ve done,” Executive Editor Tom Brevoort said in a press release. “He’s seen it and he knows all, and there’s so much that affect so many players in the Marvel Universe that apart from the spine of the murder mystery proper [in Original Sin] and the impact on the characters that have their own titles, there was still grist to deal with characters of all sorts throughout the Marvel Universe.”
First up in Original Sins #1: Deathlok, who is set to return to a more prominent place in Marvel comics (as he did in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show) in a tale by writer Nathan Edmondson and artist Mike Perkins. Also, writer Ryan North and artist Ramon Villalobos have the Young Avengers on the trail of The Hood, and Lockjaw gets his turn in the spotlight from writer Stuart Moore and artist Rick Geary. I’m guessing he knows some things …
The first in a five-issue limited series, Original Sins #1 goes on sale on June 11.
