Is there an unannounced Spider-Man film for 2015?

That Daily Star article suggesting that Andrew Garfield will be staying on as Spider-Man until 2020 strikes again! As well as revealing Garfield might be here to stay and that him and Emma Stone are planning an LA ‘love nest’ together, the article suggests that Garfield is signed on to a Spider-Man film that will be released next year.

According to British tabloid The Daily Star a senior spokesperson from Columbia Pictures said this “Andrew is already contracted to make two more films for release in 2015 and 2016. But we are looking to tie him to the role for as many as a further four pictures given the huge success the franchise is enjoying. The part is pretty much his for as long as he chooses.”

So, we previously had Amazing Spider-Man 3 for a 2016 release with the Sinister Six and Venom spin-offs taking place after that, but now that there’s reportedly a film in the works for a release next year could be be getting one of the much anticipated spin-offs much earlier than anticipated? For example a Sinister Six spin-off film next year would make sense given the ending of Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Still Sony wanted a Spider-Man film every year and why say that if there won’t be one next year? We’ll have to wait and see.
