Man Of Steel Sequel To Be Called Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice

Sorry Superman. Even though your next movie outing is supposed to be a sequel to Man of Steel, you don’t get top billing.

That’s what happens when Batman is involved too. Warner Bros. announced today that the film will officially be titled Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, giving Ben Affleck’s Batman the nod over Henry Cavill’s Superman as far as the order of names goes. The logo, which you can see above, combines both heroes’ symbols in a way we’ve seen in comics and other media.

Of course with Warner/DC eyeing up a Justice League movie after this, it only makes sense to get that “Justice” in the subtitle as well. The whole thing is a little unwieldy, but at least it gives people who aren’t huge comic book fans a heads up on exactly what to expect.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is currently slated to hit theaters on May 6, 2016. Alongside Affleck and Cavill, the movie’s cast includes Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Jeremy Irons as Alfred.

Are you digging the name, or were you hoping for something else? Let us know in the comments section.
