Batman & The Flash: Hero Run Out Now For iOS And Android
By Nick Tylwalk
Take two famous DC heroes, one known for running really fast and the other known for … well, usually not running, but still doing awesome stuff, put them both together in an endless runner with combat and card collecting elements, and you end up with GREE’s Batman & The Flash: Hero Run, which is out now for both iOS and Android devices. The gist of it is that you take one of the two titular heroes, sprint through either Gotham City or Gorilla City (and yes, you can send Flash to Gotham and vice versa) and try to keep running as long as possible while collecting coins and avoiding obstacles.
Of course two of DC’s finest wouldn’t be caught in just any runner, so you’ve also got to defeat minions and engage in boss battles against the likes of the Joker and Grodd. Plus you can collect cards that offer helpful gadgets or speed up the leveling process, giving both heroes more options in their unending battle against evil. You start play with the New 52 versions of Batman and Flash, but it’s possible to save up enough coins (or just buy them, if you want to go that route) to take a shot at getting the Wally West Flash, the Dark Knight Returns Batman or the ability to play as the bad guys.
Having spent a little time with Batman & The Flash: Hero Run, I can tell you that it’s fairly mindless but certainly has its charms. It’s a free download and you can find it on the App Store or Google Play depending on what mobile ecosystem you use. Also, as great as Batman is, Flash would totally kick his butt if they were forced to compete in an endless runner. Just saying.
