Adrien Brody Still Wants to be The Joker
By Skip Harvey
If you remember all the way back to 2007, Ardrien Brody was being considered f0r the Clown Prince of Crime in the Dark Knight (supposedly). Similarly to how he was being considered for the role of Spock in Star Trek. Turns out, he still wants to be in the running.
In a recent interview with Metro at the Cannes Film Festival, the 41 year old Brody was asked about his interest in what would be a role rebooted from the Heath Ledger era.
"I would do it if I feel I can contribute something valuable and that the role would be interesting to me because they’re long journeys. To me, the villains are way fun!But they don’t offer me those roles. If there is an opportunity to do something like that and play a comic book hero or villain, that’s not something I’m fundamentally opposed to."
Granted, that rumor of the Joker being a villain in Dawn of Justice has been essentially debunked. Cinematographer Larry Fong’s infamous playing card Instagram photo and the ‘Joker face’ in the background of the Batffleck reveal have both been proven to be serious reaches by the Fanboy Internet Rumor Mill, so there’s no evidence the Joker would show up in this film at all. In fact, I kinda doubt they’d put so many villains in the film since Batman and Robin worked so well.
At least Adrien’s interested.
