If you’ve always wanted to get into cosplay but weren’t sure how the experts perfect their craft, Marvel has the answers for you in the form of a new video series.

It’s called Marvel Method: Cosplay, and the first installment debuted today on Marvel.com and Marvel’s YouTube Channel (we’ve also embedded it below as a public service). It features Lorraine Cink, host of Marvel’s The Watcher, associate producer and cosplay expert Judy Stephens, professional costumer Carly Bradt, wig expert Katie Hondrogen and professional cosplayer Yaya Han as they pool their talents to create the perfect costume for San Diego Comic-Con. The series goes through the process step by step from character selection to wearable design to fabric construction, and the finished product will be revealed at the Marvel booth on the first day of Comic-Con.

Speaking of character selection …

“After considering so many powerful women of the Marvel Universe, we continued to be drawn back to the Scarlet Witch,” Cink said in a press release. “Her recent death in Uncanny Avengers, her upcoming appearance in Marvel’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and her stunning redesign by John Cassaday for the Marvel NOW! initiative all played part in our ultimate decision to build her costume. However, the true linchpin for me was that Wanda Maximoff is one of the most complex, dynamic and powerful players in the Marvel Universe – who could resist the opportunity to be her for a day?”
