Evidence Batcave May Be Shown In Dawn Of Justice
By Steve Lam
Let me start off by saying that any news is awesome news regarding Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. As a fanboy, I relish anything to do with the movie — from the Batmobile and new Superman suit to what the cast has been eating for lunch. That’s why I’m excited to report on Larson Electronics providing explosion-proof lighting for Dawn of Justice. You might be saying “whoop-de-do we have lights”, but it goes deeper than that. The explosion-proof lights may be used in the Batcave! In a press release, Larson Electronics describes the involvement of their product:
"Larson Electronics lighting equipment heads back to the big screen for another grand appearance in the new “Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice” film. Warner Brothers and DC Entertainment team up to create a sequel to “Man of Steel” which will then lead up to the “Justice League” movie.Larson Electronics has experienced significant expansion into the film industry. Their line of industrial grade lighting products have proven to be a popular choice among set designers and film production specialists due to their high performance and modern designs which lend themselves well to the production of today’s action and sci-fi thrillers. The EPL-SL-10-LED explosion proof string light set is ideal for general close work and inspection activities in hazardous locations requiring explosion proof protection. This string light set contains a total of ten 10 watt LED work lights equipped with aluminum hooks and connected in series along 100’ of 14/3 SOOW explosion proof cord. A molded T junction is mounted every ten feet, with three feet of 16/3 SOOW cord connecting a single drop light to the backbone. The machined aluminum housings, cast aluminum guard, tempered glass lamp globe, and abrasion resistant cord make this a very durable unit that will resist damage from chemicals, abrasion, vibrations and impacts. This lighting solution provides a flexible, easy to manage source of illumination while providing ample length of cord to maneuver through a work space. Each molded T connector contains a hook eyelet, allowing operators to suspend the entire unit off the ground and out of the work space. The cord on this unit is terminated with a 1523P Class 1, Division 1 explosion proof plug for complete protection. A 25’ tail section of main SOOW cord is included to allow ample length for connection to any 120-277 volts AC power source.“It is very exciting to get calls from movie production companies that are interested in using our products on the big screen,” said Rob Bresnahan with Larsonelectronics.com. “Rumor has it, these LED string lights are being used to light up the bat cave on the movie set.”Larson Electronics produces a full range of industrial and commercial lighting equipment, telescoping light towers, explosion proof lighting, and LED work lights. Giving Batman’s hideout some illumination is all fine and dandy. But when you have the word “explosion” in any sentence, there will definitely be some questions and speculations:
- Does something happen to the Batcave?
- Is Superman going to attack the Batcave in his initial feud with the Dark Knight?
- Will the lights be part of the set for the Batcave or will they only be used to give light to the set?
Many reports have indicated that Bruce Wayne will be living in a lakeside cottage that’s on the property of Wayne Manor and that the Batcave will be located right below it.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has a US release date of May 6, 2016.
